Halloween

We  had our Halloween assembly today. We sang songs that Mrs Henry had taught us and recited poems we learned. Later at our party we had fun getting messy and in our competition everyone recited their poems Drife, James, Taylor, Michael, Jordon, Callum, Stuart, and Kimberly all won runners up prizes. A big congratulations to Amy the P4 winner and Anna P5 winner.

Skipping

We are going to be skipping every week to improve our fitness. It is great fun and easy to do – even adults could manage it !! Feel free to come and join in as we have plenty of spare s

Basketball

Congratulations to our basketball team who won their opening match against Springholm Primary school. Well done to everyone on the team and thanks to Toby for keeping score during the match.

Soccer Sixes

Congratulations to our soccer sixes football team for their performance at today’s competition. The team won two of their three matches to make it to the play offs. Unfortunately we lost 1-0 to Gatehouse in a very close match. Thanks to Blair Templeton and Anne  Finlay for taking the team to Castle Douglas at such short notice.

Harvest Festival

Our Harvest Festival was a great success again this year. Mrs Banner baked bread with the P6/7 class and rolls with P1/2/3. You can see how wonderful the bread looked, later the whole school devoured it and it tasted just as good as it looked ( but you’ll have to take our word for that because we’ve eaten the lot!!). Mrs Porteous and her band of gardeners and helpers produced yet another bumper crop of vegetables from the school garden. These vegetables and other donations from our generous parents were distributed round the village in the afternoon. A great day was had by all.

French

We are learning French with Mrs Acheson. Here we are learning numbers one to twenty.
