Lewis won this splendid trophy for gaining the most points in the children’s section of the Glenkens Show. This is the second time that Lewis has won this trophy. Well done Lewis we are very proud of you.
PC Bruton came to the school to talk about his job in the police force . His talk was very informative and the class had great fun asking him questions about the different challenges he faces every day at work. We also had a visit from Gillian Smith who spoke about being a jockey. Everyone was impressed by her presentation ( and the delicious chocolate cakes she brought in). Unfortunately she is a little shy so we have no photos of the event, but I am sure the children will remember it as a highlight of career’s week.
Thanks to all parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents who took time to come to our open afternoon. Hopefully we will see you all again next term.

Miss Nicol came to school to help out in our class and look after her mother! She had a great time working with everyone and especially enjoyed P6’s project on the Rats of Nimh.
Everyone has been enjoying out skating lessons with friends from Kells and Carsphairn schools at Dumfries Ice Bowl and improving each week.
Every Wednesday S4 pupils come to our class to read with our pupils. as you can see from the photographs primary and secondary pupils are working very well together.
P6 are learning yet another new talent, bowling. Here they are at lesson number one. Thanks to Hamish and Dalry Bowling club for all their help.
As if coming to Dalry School wasn’t enough fun already we have now introduced Wednesday Afternoon Activities. Everyone in the Primary was given the choice of six different activities: cookery, drama, dancing, photography, golf and craft. All the activities have a Scottish theme in line with the year of Homecoming. Thanks to our parent helpers who have volunteered to join in the fun.
P4/5/6 visited Kells Primary to have fun and take part in a problem solving and team building afternoon. Everyone had a great time completing the different tasks. Thanks to Mrs Devine and everyone at Kells School for a super afternoon.
