Cathy Cassidy

Today we had a visit from Cathy Cassidy who is one of the countries most famous children’s authors. She talked about her journey to to success from day dreaming in class and trying to get “Jackie” to publish her short stories to writing her very popular and successful series of books. Hopefully there were a few future writers in today’s audience.

Open Afternoon

Thanks to all parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents who took time to come to our open afternoon. Hopefully we will see you all again next term.

256 [Desktop Resolution]

Problem Solving

P4/5/6 visited Kells Primary to have fun and take part in a problem solving and team building afternoon. Everyone had a great time completing the different tasks. Thanks to Mrs Devine and everyone at Kells School for a super afternoon.

Raising funds for charity and having fun wearing silly trousers – just another fun day at Dalry Primary.

Dean Castle

Today was our school trip, the entire Primary School went to visit Dean Castle. P4/5 searched for bugs and beasties, quite a few wee beasties found us but fortunately Anna came to the rescue with midge repellent! Thanks Anna (and her Dad for sending it).  We found lots of insects, a frog , a newt slugs, snails, centipedes and millipedes. After lunch we played in the adventure playground then visited pets’ corner. Thanks to Mrs Firth and Miss Fisher for helping on the trip.

Fun Fours Football

                                                                                                                              Our fabulous Fun Fours football team won through from the Stewartry then Regional finals to the Nationals in Edinburgh. Here is a photograph of our brilliant players. Back row Joshua, Drife (captain), Joe, James, front row Theo, Michael and Hamish. Congratulations to them all and many thanks to our ever supportive parents for their help and cheers during the heats and the finals. 

Red Nose Day

As you can see we had great fun on Red Nose Day. Well done to Mrs Nelson who really entered into the sprit of the day.


Newton Stewart Music Festival

                                                

P 4/5 went to Newton Stewart Music Festival today to sing in the Dalry senior and junior choirs. With Miss Lamont’s class they sang ‘All World Turns Over’ and ‘Scooby Doo’ for the senior choir and with Mrs Porteous’ P3 pupils they sang ‘Good News’ and ‘A Cat Called Alexander’. The choirs both sang very well and ended up with joint third place.  

Haggis Bash

 

We had our annual Haggis Bash tonight and sang, danced and recited poems to honour Robert Burns. Everyone had loads of fun as usual. Well done to our eight dancers Hamish,Ellen, Drife, Kimberly, James, Anna, Michael and Sabrina.
